Shipping & delivery
Processing: Most pieces are made to order. Allow 1 to 2 weeks to build, finish, and pack before it ships. Custom or larger orders may need more time; you’ll hear directly if there’s a delay.
Shipping: USPS within the United States, tracking on all orders. Cost is a flat $7.99 per order within the U.S., whatever the size.
Transit: Typically 3 to 7 business days after shipment. Carrier-caused delays are outside our control.
International: Not currently available. Email to discuss possibilities.
Lost or damaged: Email within 7 days of the expected delivery date with your order number and photos if applicable, and we’ll make it right.
Returns & refunds
Because nearly everything is made by hand to order, all sales are final unless the item arrives damaged or we made a mistake.
- Damaged in transit: contact within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and packaging for a replacement or full refund.
- Our error (wrong item / finish doesn’t match): corrected at no charge.
- Custom orders: can’t be returned or refunded once production has started.
- Cancellations: full refund if requested within 24 hours of purchase, before work begins; after that, contact us to discuss options.
Privacy
- What we collect when you order: name, shipping address, email, and order details. Payment is processed by Stripe on Stripe’s own pages; card details never touch our servers and we don’t retain them.
- What we collect when you use the site: if you make an account, your email (and, if you use Google or Apple sign-in, the name/email they share). When you design a map we keep the map itself — the area you selected and your design choices — so your library works and we can reprint your order. Anonymous draft files are deleted after 24 hours, though a record that a map of that area was made is kept.
- Analytics: we run our own private, first-party page counters (page viewed, how you found us, country, device type). We do not store your IP address — visits are counted with a hash that resets daily — and no third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or session-recording tools run on this site.
- Cookies: one first-party cookie, used only to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
- Third parties involved in serving the site: Stripe (payments), Google/Apple (optional sign-in, only if you use it), map imagery tile servers (OpenStreetMap, Esri — they receive standard web requests when you browse the map picker), Google Fonts and public script CDNs (page assets), and Amazon Web Services (hosting and email delivery). None of them receive your personal details from us beyond what serving that function requires.
- Email: order and shipping emails always. Occasionally, if you designed a map and didn’t order, a personal note from us about it — every such note has a one-click unsubscribe, which we honor permanently.
- Sharing & selling: we do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with anyone, for advertising or otherwise. Sharing is limited to the payment processor and shipping carriers needed to fulfil your order.
- Your rights: email us anytime to access, correct, or delete your information (including California CCPA requests) — we’ll act on it within 30 days.
Terms
- Handmade variation: slight variations in grain, finish, and dimension are a normal feature of handmade work.
- Pricing: prices in USD, may change without notice; we may cancel and refund for pricing errors or stock issues.
- Intellectual property: all designs, photos, and content are the property of 2nd Draft Co and may not be reproduced without permission.
